Terms of Use
Scope: These Terms cover this free K12 Chinuch showcase, not a blanket license for every linked application. Apps, downloads, school agreements, and third-party services may have separate terms. There is no checkout or subscription service here.
1. Operator and agreement
K12 Chinuch is operated by its individual owner in Maryland, United States ("we," "us," or "our"). Contact: contact@k12chinuch.com.
Where an enforceable agreement is formed, these Terms apply. If you disagree, do not use the showcase. A separately signed agreement controls conflicts within its scope.
The showcase is directed to adults; children are not asked to contract for themselves or their families. Adults must arrange appropriate supervision, school approval, and required permissions for student use. A footer link does not establish parental consent or authority to bind a school or family. Our own compliance obligations remain ours.
The Privacy Policy describes data handling; website use does not replace required consent.
2. Permitted use and ownership
We grant limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable permission, subject to rights we hold, to view and reasonably copy showcase content for lawful personal, classroom, or school evaluation. Preserve attribution and proprietary notices. No right to resell the showcase, redistribute app binaries, or claim our branding is granted.
We and our licensors retain our respective rights. Third-party licenses, open-source permissions, and statutory rights remain intact. We claim no ownership of your materials, student records, third-party works, or public-domain religious texts. App licenses govern app/output use; descriptions are not paid licenses or future-feature promises.
3. Acceptable use and submissions
Do not violate laws or others' rights, access systems without authorization, introduce malware, disrupt service, misrepresent authority, or commercially exploit protected content without permission. Authorized lawful security research and legally protected conduct are not prohibited.
You retain your materials' rights. We may use non-identifying product suggestions for improvements without compensation or an implementation obligation, excluding student, personal, and confidential information. Other material is used only for your request and authorized support, not sale, public licensing, or student-data AI training. Publishing personal testimonials or screenshots requires appropriate permission.
Use synthetic or properly de-identified support examples. Do not initially attach identifiable student records; arrange authority, lawful disclosure, transfer, purpose, and deletion first under the Privacy Policy. Possessing a record does not authorize disclosure.
4. Apps and educational limitations
Screenshots are illustrative; availability, features, and compatibility may change. Missing links are not release commitments. Verify current app behavior and terms.
Assessments, reports, translations, grouping, and calendar/religious calculations require adult review; accuracy, learning outcomes, and individual suitability are not guaranteed. Tools do not replace educational judgment, qualified religious authority, medical advice, occupational therapy, diagnosis, or treatment.
Timers are not safety-critical or emergency devices. A simplified browser does not guarantee filtering, containment, or online safety. Reward tools should not be assumed to provide banking, payment processing, or real-money custody.
Local data can be lost or visible to others sharing a device/profile. Keep approved backups; do not assume cloud backup or remote deletion. See the student privacy guide.
Independent third-party services have their own terms. We remain responsible for obligations concerning providers we select.
5. Availability, changes, and ending use
We may change, suspend, discontinue, or restrict the free showcase for misuse, legal, or security reasons. Availability and support response times are not guaranteed; separate agreements and mandatory obligations remain effective.
You may stop using it anytime; this does not erase correspondence or other records. See the Privacy Policy for deletion requests.
We update the version date and provide notice or renewed assent where required. Changes do not apply retroactively to existing disputes. Future paid services require disclosed prices and purchase, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms; these Terms authorize no charge.
6. Warranty disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the free showcase and its information are provided "as is" and "as available," without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. This does not exclude separately signed express obligations or nonwaivable warranties, representations, or consumer protections.
7. Liability limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator excludes indirect, incidental, consequential, special, and punitive damages and lost profits arising from the free showcase. Total aggregate liability arising from the showcase and these Terms is limited to US $100.
These exclusions and the cap do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or nonwaivable liability or remedies. Mandatory privacy, student-record, and consumer rights and regulators' powers remain intact. Separate app or school agreements may impose different obligations.
8. Law, disputes, and general provisions
Maryland law governs, excluding conflict-of-law rules, subject to mandatory law. Showcase disputes may be brought in Maryland state or federal courts with jurisdiction; nonwaivable local forum rights remain. These Terms do not require arbitration, waive class proceedings, or prevent regulator complaints.
Contacting contact@k12chinuch.com is optional, does not shorten a legal deadline, and is not required before seeking relief.
Unenforceable provisions leave the remainder effective where lawful. Nonenforcement is not waiver. These Terms and applicable separate written agreements define the showcase agreement; mandatory law prevails.
