Privacy Policy

1. Who operates this website

K12 Chinuch is operated by its individual owner in Maryland, United States ("we," "us," or "our"). Contact us about privacy at contact@k12chinuch.com.

2. Information and purposes

Search/filtering runs in your browser, not a search-submission backend. The showcase does not request precise location, microphone, or camera access.

We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use student information for unrelated profiling or training AI models. The showcase has no advertisements.

3. Providers and disclosures

We use Vercel for hosting and Cloudflare for delivery, security, and analytics, where configured. Our email provider processes messages and attachments. Processing may occur in the United States and other countries; features and retention depend on configuration.

Provider details: Vercel Privacy Notice, Cloudflare Privacy Policy, and Web Analytics documentation. We remain responsible for our practices.

We may disclose information as reasonably necessary for legal process, safety, misuse investigations, or legal claims. Protected student information also requires a lawful basis under student privacy rules.

Ownership changes permit transfers only under applicable law and binding school agreements, not incompatible new student-data uses. Required notice or authorization must precede such uses. Linked apps may have additional providers and integrations; review their notices.

4. Cookies, browser storage, and analytics

Our showcase code does not set advertising cookies, create profiles, or save searches in local storage. Browsers cache files; provider features may process additional data or set security cookies. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as not tracking individuals across customer websites. This is not a cookie-free or no-data promise.

Manage cookies and site data in your browser; blocking them or scripts may affect functionality. An opt-out preference signal does not change our no-sale/no-targeted-advertising practices. Do Not Track currently triggers no separate behavior change. We will honor legally required privacy signals and update this policy if practices change.

5. Children, schools, and support materials

This showcase is for adult educators, school personnel, and parents, not children's accounts or personal submissions. Children's use and collection in linked apps require separate assessment.

Start support requests without identifiable student information. Use invented or properly de-identified examples; removing a name alone may not suffice. Do not attach the record to the initial email.

If identifiable material is necessary, before receipt we must confirm adult authority and lawful disclosure, arrange an appropriate transfer method, agree on troubleshooting-only use and deletion, and complete required school agreements or parental notice and consent.

Student support data is used only for the agreed case, with necessary, authorized access and disclosure. For unexpectedly sent records, we restrict use and delete when no longer lawfully necessary; sending it does not establish consent or a school-services agreement.

If we learn that a child under 13 has contacted us directly without required authorization, we will not use identifying content for troubleshooting or updates. We promptly delete personal information unless a specific legal obligation requires preservation. Where COPPA permits, we may use only the child's online contact information for a one-time response, then promptly delete it. Other collection or continued contact requires a lawful basis and required notice and consent.

For school records, parents and eligible students should start with the school. Contact us to review, correct, or delete children's information we hold or stop collection/use, subject to verification and law. We cannot remotely erase device-only records.

This policy is not a school data-processing agreement, direct parental notice, consent mechanism, or COPPA/FERPA certification.

6. Retention and security

Correspondence is retained only as reasonably necessary for support, legal obligations, or disputes. Provider logs and backups have service-specific deletion arrangements, not a universal deletion period.

Identifiable student material requires a case-specific retention and deletion schedule before transfer, covering working files, messages, downloads, provider copies, backups, and lawful preservation. It is not retained indefinitely as general support history.

No service is completely secure. Ordinary email, browser storage, and exports should not be assumed secure student-record systems. Report incidents to contact@k12chinuch.com without sensitive attachments. We will provide legally required incident notifications.

7. Requests and choices

Email contact@k12chinuch.com with "Privacy request" and non-sensitive context. Applicable law may give rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or appeal, subject to exceptions.

We may proportionately verify identity, parental responsibility, or school authority. Do not send identification or student files before arranging verification. We respond within applicable legal deadlines. Reply to appeal a denial; we will explain applicable appeal procedures and regulator complaint rights.

For device-only records, use app/browser deletion controls. See the student privacy guide for shared storage, exports, and backups.

8. International visitors and changes

Website use is not consent to international transfers or a waiver of mandatory local rights. Required regional disclosures, safeguards, and agreements must precede relevant processing.

We update the version date when this policy changes and provide required additional notice. Materially different uses of children's information require any legally required prior authorization; future features are not authorized by this policy.
